While I was dismantling an old treadmill some time back, I salvaged a set of roller bearings that were pressed into a nice fat steel bar. I had in mind that it would make a great rotating bar, but didn't have an easy way to mount it. The other day I discovered there was just enough space on the crosspins to hang the bar from the straps of my rings. Fat, rotating pullup bar. Seems pretty hard on the grip, but I can't tell if that's just because it's a fat bar.
I got inspired to try this after seeing the following made by the guys at Rock Exotica:
