One more mile
Distance: 15 miles
Pace: 8:48 min/mi
Ran on the beach today. I am happy I could add one mile of distance but it really took every once of willpower I have to make it happen. My collapse manifested itself early, my first two miles went at 8:10, the next two 8:25, the following two 8:33, then it was 8:58 and by mile 9 I had past 9 min/mi. I started thinking about turning around around mile 5, and quitting around mile 7. Maybe it was the 94% humidity, or maybe its just me, but I was having a hard time.
One possibility is that my twice a week training is becoming insufficient for the distances I am trying to do. Another possibility is that I have to start adding some mid-run calories (I am still just drinking 8 once per run).
P.S. I went running for 1.07 miles yesterday with Sandrine. Maybe we'll do more this summer.
