Start slow
Today was hard pace intervals: 1:30 min running, 1 min resting, 8 times. Last week, when I did 6x1:30x1, I clearly fell apart (see here). So this week I was aiming for a slower start, but a more consistent performance. I was trying to be at 6:30 min/mi throughout. Here was my pace for each interval:
1: 6:31, Max HR 153
2: 6:30, Max HR 160
3: 6:35, Max HR 166
4: 6:48, Max HR 166
5: 6:39, Max HR 171
6: 6:34, Max HR 172
7: 6:40, Max HR 175
8: 6:28, Max HR 176
Not bad.
