Punishment

6AM. It looked like it was raining, I was feeling lazy, but it was my day to run. I went once per week the last two weeks. Both times I ran slow for about 35 min along the Hudson, and felt out of breath and tired when it was all said and done.

So instead I decided to run the stairs in my building. I had a vague and incorrect memory of doing this before. Incorrect because I did not remember how hard this was. My plan was to go up and down twice (the building has 30 floors and we are on 9). So I went down to the ground floor (light run) and started up. By the time I reached floor 16 I was in trouble. I was still trying to run but my legs were barely going faster than at walking pace. I made it to the top and then slowly back down to the 9th floor and called it quits.

It took me about 30 minutes to feel fine, I was pretty dizzy. By comparison this is much less than what I had done last time, but I guess its a start.

After about 1 hour and a half I did my 30 burpees for today. I could only do 10 at a time and needed 10 minutes between each set. Alistair and Kenway have now joined the experiment, they both asked me not to reset the counters, but I think they might have underestimated the difficulty of catching up even a small deficit...

Experiment total (as of this moment): GF 120, KL 50, AW 40.
