Warm-up:
back squat
pistols
foam rolling
5x5 back squat (smith machine; 200)
3x14 decline sit-up (14# medicine ball on chest)
2x10 pullups
Should have bumped to 205# instead this week. Felt too easy on the last set. Once again, I discovered that my lower back feels much better when I drive my knees out on the ascent. I don't really understand the mechanics of this (some good stuff by Rippetoe here), but I know that it is a very obvious lack of pain when I do this versus not doing it (and it's not like my knees actively track inwards when I feel pain, it's just that actively driving them out relieves it).
Last night, I did some skill work. Accumulated 60 seconds of time in a mature support on rings, advanced tuck lever (have to take a picture, not sure it was so good) and hanging L-sit. Each took about 10 reps lasting about 5-6 seconds in the hold, with thorough rest between reps. I am pretty surprised, but I can really feel this in my back and shoulders today!
