Warm-up:
dynamic squat stretching
low-bar back squat (45x5x2, 85x5, 125x5, 165x3, 205x2 then 225x5x3)
bench press (45x5, 65x5, 85x3, 105x2 then 130x5x3)
2x(1+5) power snatch + OHS (65, 85)
Dragged myself into the gym despite climbing last night, having beers afterward, and waking up late. Didn't really want to but am trying to stick to my strength cycle, and glad I did. Squats felt heavy even at the lighter warm-up weights (165, 205) but the work sets themselves actually felt solid - no real stalling, though the 4th and 5th reps were definitely heavier. Kept the stance narrower, which seemed like it helped. Up 5 next time.
Toyed with going up 10 to 135 for the bench press, but once I hit the worksets was glad I stayed conservative. Focused on tight core during the lift; tried tucking my shoulders in, but didn't feel very different. Up 5 next time.
Played with some snatches as cooldown - weight went up easy, and OHS felt pretty good after all the squatting. Really looking forward to doing a little Oly lifting at Brooklyn Barbell's open house this Sunday with Brian. Bumper plates!
