Sounds like I had a similar morning to G. Ran an easy 2.4 miles this morning with M, who is breaking distance PBs every time we go out.

2.4 mi easy pace (10:50ish)
13 burpees

One extra burpee by mistake.

Am really focusing on cadence on the easy runs, hoping it transfers up to a faster pace. Shooting for 170-180 cadence. I was never a listen-to-music kind of runner, but I find it really helpful to have a playlist of songs with BPMs in my target zone. In case you're interested, here's my current list:

What's your target BPM?

Since I'm looking for a cadence of 180 footfalls per minute (anywhere between 170 and 180 actually), I look for songs either around 180 or 90.

With the half time songs, you just time one foot to the beat rather than each footfall.

A lot of people on the webs have compiled playlists with songs in different target BPM ranges. There are also tools to analyze the BPM of songs in your itunes (Cadence is one, but I have too old of an OS for it).
