Two bridge afternoon

Despite the hot and humid day, decided to put on my running shoes and head over into Brooklyn to try out my new headphones. Still building back into longer runs, broke up the run into work/recovery intervals today. First interval up and over the Williamsburg hit hard right away, big elevation gain. Later intervals felt more comfortable, partly flatter ground and partly a better focus on getting my weight forward.

Total distance ~6 miles (pace ~9:00-10:00 min/mile)
Work interval durations (15:45, 10:00, 8:30, 5:00)

Exact ends of each interval determined by local topography:
1) Brooklyn end of the Williamsburg
2) SE corner of the Navy Yard
3) lost in the projects by the Manhattan Bridge
4) end of the Manhattan bridge (Chinatown)

Interesting route, though I meant to return by the Brooklyn bridge but got on the wrong span and realized it too late. Notable sights along the way: hawkers selling cheap luggage and leather goods on Orchard St; Hasidim dressed head to toe in black despite the humidity, out for group strolls across the bridges; honeysuckle growing wild from abandoned plots in the Navy Yard; big holiday weekend cookouts in the projects; bride and groom in Brooklyn Bridge park (of course) taking wedding photos.
