Back to plastic

Yesterday K, Jess, and I were back to BKB. We worked the new problems in the back. It was very crowded and many of the problems move sideways, which meant a lot of waiting. Nonetheless I thought they were fun and different from much of the stuff there: a bit more unusual. We started on a V1, then V2, and V3. Our first hurdle came with a V4 (green with diamonds) that involves many difficult to grab pieces (relatively big but not very deep which means you use some kind of open hand / crimp combination) and a very high foot to the left).

After that we worked a lime green V4 with again a very high left foot (this time even higher) and some small crimpy hands and you need to throw for a high small piece: fun. I also did a V5 blue that involved mostly horizontal movements with heel hooks and a finish with very few feet and open hand grips. I barely managed, but made quite ugly. We then worked a V3 red that was really fun (again a high left foot), but this time the trick was standing on a big piece and dropping your right foot (and body) to get some traction on a big open right hand, and then go for the finish. I thought this was the most entertaining problem. I then did a short V3+ variation of it that focused on a mantel.

After some failed attempt in the overhanging section we went back to the front and finished the evening with a V3 that involved mostly large pinches and went straight up.

Way to climb G, and Jess too. I, on the other hand, was weaksauce lite.
