Hotel hoedown

Warm-up:
dynamic squat stretching
dumbbell snatches

3 rounds of:
10 R-handed dumbbell snatches (45#)
10 L-handed dumbbell snatches (45#)
20 push-ups

8:43 (2:18, 3:11, 3:14)

2 rounds:
10 reverse crunches
20 steps walking lunge

Quick little workout while checking out the facilities at my hotel in Evanston. Pretty typical for a hotel gym - treadmills, stairsteppers, stationary bikes, and a set of dumbbells, no pull-up bars or barbells - but with a little determination it's plenty good enough for a few days. Snatches were power snatches but went up fairly easily, push-ups felt weak.

Thought it might be handy to compile some stripped down, hotel-friendly workouts. There's a lot of good sites out there for inspiration, like Crossfit Virtuousity.

2 rounds for time of:
10 1-arm (right) Dumbbell Thrusters, 45lbs
20 Sit-ups
10 1-arm (left) Dumbbell Thrusters, 45lbs
20 Sit-ups
30 Double Unders

10 Rounds for time:
10 V-ups
10 Push-Ups

5 rounds for time:
5 Dumbbell Hang Clean and Push Jerk
10 Box Jumps
15 Sit Ups

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 reps for time of:
Dumbbell Clean & Jerks, 35lbs
Push-Ups

Complete as many rounds as you can in 15 minutes of:
35 Squats
10 Handstand Push-ups

I'm in Evanston at the Neuroecon meeting. Jumped into an ultimate frisbee game with the guys from Duke yesterday, and realized very quickly that I am really out of aerobic shape...
