I dream of gyms like this
Warm-up:
good mornings
jumprope singles
4x2 power snatch (85,95,115,126)
13x1 snatch (4x135# [f2,3], 2x146 [f1], 2x148 [f1], 2x155 [f1], 2x157 [f1,2], 157)
5x1 clean + jerk (2x155#, 166, 2x185 [f both jerks])
Great session over at the Brooklyn Barbell Club, which is the home of Crossfit Virtuosity. Unlike most CF gyms (at least officially), these guys have an open gym on Sunday where you can play with their toys. Things you will find at the Brooklyn Barbell Club that you won't find at my NYSC: rings, lots of them; lifting platforms, three of them; a nice fat climbing rope; kettlebells; a super-funky paint job; tires; functional C2 rowers; a GHD; sledgehammers; paralleletes; weightlifting belts that are meant to do more than hold your pants up; sandbags; a clean bathroom; chalk; bumper plates; fractional plates (!); straight barbells with collars that actually spin; etc. Almost too much to handle at once. I'm heading back next week. Anyone else interested?
I can't emphasize how much less stressful lifting with bumpers is. I may change things up so that I only O-lift heavy once a week, and do power versions the rest. Messed around a little bit with the rings. Tried a strict L-muscle-up, but I couldn't manage the transition without tipping forward. Also climbed the rope, which was super fun; need to concoct some workout that involves climbing. Here's one from one of the Qualifiers.
Old habits die hard:

Sounds really nice. Looks like you're getting good pull on your snatch, and just losing the lockout - balance issue?
I think I just need to get stronger. That and maybe I should do some snatch balances.
Sounds great. I maybe out of town next Sunday, but I'd definitely like to check it out.
Forget the gym, let's go climbing!
Thanks for the shout-out, Brian! Come back again!
