More snatches
Warm-up:
muscle snatch
tall snatch
5x2 hang power snatch (95,105,3x115)
4x1 snatch (135)
4x2 back squat (high-bar; 185,3x225)
1x15 pullups
Working some cues based on feedback I got on some video a couple of days ago. The first rep of each double from the hang started as I would have normally; in the second rep I attempt to keep my shoulders over the bar longer. This position naturally required me to push my hips back and straighten out my legs to keep the barbell over my midfoot. I worked on this from the floor as well, trying to pull my knees back out of the way of the barbell. Lifts were all over the place as a result, but I think an immediate effect of this cue is that I stay on my heels longer. The problem is that I can bring the hips in too horizontally, which causes the bar to swing, and I have to compensate by jumping back (especially clear in 3rd snatch from the floor, which was closest to the characteristic S-shaped bar trajectory, but overdoing it a bit).

Nice work, B. Looks like you're leaning back more at the start/middle of your second drive. That might come along with bending your arms later, which you may or may not be consciously trying to do.
Hey, any more thoughts about those Werksan shoes? I'd be in for a pair...
I'm gonna go for a pair of the Chinese cheapos from Werksan. What do you want? We can coordinate tonight.
A pair of Chinese cheapos - you talking about us?
Yeah, I'm in. Assume you're talking about the 1.25" heel ones?
