Saturday afternoon special

Warm-up:
burpees, box jumps
dynamic squat stretching

3x5 low-bar back squat (95x5, 135x5, 185x3, 225x2 then 3x245)
3x5 shoulder press (45x5, 65x5, 85x3, 95x1 then 100/100/100[f5]x5)

2 rounds:
10 standing plate twist (45)
15 weighted decline situps (25)

After an afternoon trying to convince my dad to do physical therapy (we compromised on *maybe* him going for exercise classes at the local Y), thought I'd do a little squat therapy myself.

Felt rougher than last session at 240, but got all reps up. Very close to flat out stalling on a few reps. 245 is my 5RM, so to get three sets is progress; will see what happens with 250 next week. Shoulder presses okay, feels like it's getting easier but sill missing the last rep of the last set at 100. Right forearm strain still nagging (ring finger tendon/muscle).

Gym was pretty crowded on Saturday, but saw a few guys who had their stuff down. One guy racked 305 and high-bar squatted for reps, looked smooth and as easy as the bar alone is for me. Another dude was on the pullup bars ripping off bar muscle-ups in sets of ten.

Yep, Coles it was. Every now and then you see some people doing pretty insane stuff. Kind of makes up for all the pelvis thrusting...

Huh, well that's pretty shocking. When are you going to start busting out the muscle ups??
