Heartbreaker

Climbed at TRC with Guillaume, Chloe, and Alistair today. Still tired from too much beer, too little sleep, and yesterday's climbing, but felt relatively strong on the warmup (traverse, 9+) and first run at the project 12 (dark green). Took two hangs but managed to run through the chains on the roof first; Guillaume one-upped me as usual by resting only once.

Things went downhill from there, mostly because I was just out of juice. Led a 10 (yellow) I had done before, but poor sequencing down low and a tricky stance up high led to a few whippers. G was still strong, onsighting the long angling overhung turqoise 10. We also tried a new ungraded route (hearts on white) that Miss Pssst was working on, tiny fingery holds and tricky footwork. Kept getting spit off the bottom, but G looked strong pulling through the bottom moves on his first try. Next time...

I still can't figure how Miss Psst managed to pull on that yellow hold. It literally feels like a bar of soap.

I was surprised how well you climbed K given the partying from the night before! And thanks for the catch on that last one, the ground was coming fast!

I'll see you guys next week. I bet you will all be leading the hearts and the pink by then.

I would be happy managing to rock over and grab that tiny chip on the pink, on toprope of course.

Dammit, I left out that last fall - that was a real flyer...

It was impressive, though I'll admit I didn't see the full extent because as soon as I locked off the rope, I was ducking for my life.
