Who took the bomp from the bompalompalomp?
Warm-up:
- 2 minutes jump roping.
- 5x5 high bar squats: 155, 205, 215, 220, 230
- 5x5 Shoulder Press: 60, 75, 80, 85, 85
- 16 minutes running 7 mph pace.
- 4 minutes rowing. Tension at mid-point.
Started the work out to Le Tigre. The jump rope is still difficult, but this time I managed to do about 80 in a row. Always get a pounding headache by the end. Squats are still not deep enough.
Took everything I had to show up to the gym today. Glad I pushed myself, but I felt like crap throughout.

Good for you, going in on those tough days is like putting moneyin the bank. Sooner or later, when you need to withdraw, you find you've built up a good reservoir.
The pounding headache seems a good sign to find another exercise to replace the jumproping, no?
Also, if you are shorting the squats due to the weight, you should cut the weight to get the depth. It's worth developing the kinesthetic sense of correct depth.
The headache I was hoping would eventually go away. I don't really know what the cause, I don't get those when I warm up by running. I'll give it a few more tries.
Its pretty obvious you are right that I should decrease the weight, its just not that much fun when the weight is not that high to start with...
Agree with Brian, getting the depth right builds both the sense of the motion and the posterior chain.
It will feel hard enough (fun) with the weight at the bottom of the hole.
Oh, and I have an idea for Thursday - want to do (full depth) heavy squat singles?
