Atomic
Over $3 beers and the grilled lamb sandwich special at Sheep Station, G explained to me what he finds so special about Blondie's single Atomic: out of a mix of new wave guitars and disco beats, Deborah Harry utters a single, resonating "atomic". It reminded me of how climbing often seems, long sessions of waiting and working pierced by sudden moments of clarity and beauty of movement. Cheesy, but that's what happens when you get two old dudes at a bar talking about 80s music...
Good preceding session at BKB tonight, lots of consistent, steady movements in the V4 range. We went V0, V1, V3, V4, V4, V5[f], V4, V4, V4, V3, V2, moving between vertical and steep walls. G was finishing more routes in less tries than me, but I can feel the strength returning and completed most of the 4s. Cooling down with a few easier routes was good for the movements, but my tips were shredded by then end of the night.

I deny everything!
Note to self: never mention liking anything from the 80s, ever.
Nah, you have to let the inner New Wave out - all the cool kids are doing it...
In retrospect I am a bit disappointed with our climbing. It was a good training session, but it is a bit frustrating not to be sending anything above the 4 level.
OK, 5s and 6s next time only.
