Finally

Warm-up:
back squat
good mornings
split jerk (to 135#)

5-5-5-3-3 overhead squat (95,115,135,155,175 [f3])
5-4-3-2-2-1-1-1 deadlift (hook; 135,225,295,335,365,385,405,410)
4x5 floor press (135,145,150,150)

2-2-1 (per arm) Turkish get-up (50# DB)

Finally broke 405# on the deadlift. That's been a long time coming. 410# was a bit slow, but there was no hitching, and the hook grip felt just fine. This puts me at about 2.82xBW, which is a far cry from the top 20 powerlifters in my weight category (pulling greater than 4.3xBW!). TGUs felt better than last time, although I failed the last rep of the last set.

Inspired by Andy Bolton's recent world record deadlift of 457.5kg (1008 lbs)

way to cross the threshold!

I'm surprised you like the hook grip so much. I'm 50/50 with it; sometimes it hurts and sometimes it feels really solid.

Thanks!

If Koklyaev can pull 405 kg using the hook, then I got nothin to complain about.

No, but seriously, consistent use helps alot. I use the hook because the asymmetry of the mixed grip messes with my shoulders.

Nice job, B!

You're clearly outpulling me now, and I've got about 40 pounds on you...
