Meant to do back squats today, but unavailability of the sole rack at Coles (seriously) made it a return to deadlifts. After Brian's recent post, we started with the weights low and worked up trying to maintain good form. I think both Eric and I had trouble in the higher weights (4th and 5th sets), not so much lower back rounding but pushing up with the hips and losing lower back extension. Played with a hook grip, felt good but wasn't really necessary at these weights.

Released the bar each time to reset, I find it really helps me concentrate on building up the isometric pull on the bar and keeps my lower back locked. Also focused on pulling the bar up tight to the legs and driving with the legs. For the first time in a while, my legs are sorer than my back - which I think is a good sign.
