Adventures on Metro North
The Louie-mobile has finally given up the ghost, so Kenway and I decided to take the train up to TRC. It did not bode well for my climbing that my quads cramped up just walking to the TRC from the train station. I guess that hitting the gym right before climbing was not a good idea; won't be trying that again.
We warmed up on a new 9 and a pumpy 9+. The next two climbs did not go so well. The first was a white 10 up front that I have climbed (not clean) before. Holy crap, that sucked. I felt better after Kenway got on and said it was a stiff 10. It looks like they pulled two pieces off since last time (a foot near the bottom, and another foot near the prow that I vaguely remember being useful). After that, we moved next door to the pink 10b that has been stumping me. Climb is fun, quite long with a good variety of holds and a bit sequency to boot. I kept getting stuck clipping the draw above the blue hold (4th draw?). It looks like they removed (or the tape ripped off) a potentially useful left foot that would make this clipping stance much better. Without it, Kenway figured out a very nice heel-hook that makes that clip much easier (and cool too!). I did a fun 9 (jugfest, but long) next and finished up trying Kenway's heel-hook on the 10b, while Kenway polished off a new 11 (red, with two-finger pockets all over the place).
We got a nice gift for Guillaume, and a couple of Christmas elves are adding the finishing touches.

I have no idea what that is, but I am scared.
Be afraid. Be very, very afraid...
Oh, great!
