Warmups are for wussies
Another blitzkrieg through New Rochelle with Guillaume and Alistair, who climbed with his friend Audrey. G and I has a specific plan (none of which involved stretching or warming up): the black 11 set by Obe up front, the purple 12 on the Mad Russian column, Megan's pink 12 on TR, then a final 11 (blue, vertical wall back around the arch).
The 11 felt a little tough to start on, moves are small and require big step ups to reasonable clipping stances, really committing. Guillaume did great, sending everything but the crux move past the last bolt, a horizontal layout off a tiny right hand crimp. The 12 went much better for me this time, it's not as scary as the Mad Russian Red but demands endurance - a few fewer hangs this time. Guillaume hopped right on and fought his way to the finish too.
The pink 12 was ridiculous, I still can't pull the huge left foot step up reach to a tiny left hand crimp; it's a big core tension move, with both hands gastoned and trying to keep you against the slightly overhanging wall. Guillaume, showing the famed persistence (stubborness?) of the Quebecois, kept at it til he pulled the move. We finished off on the blue 11, which was nice and technical but harder than either of us expected, probably because we were so tired. Totally off sequence right after the first bolt, I slipped and almost grounded - luckily Guillaume's body was there to cushion the fall (thanks dude, and uh, don't lose any more weight...).
Cool-down:
7 burpees (I think Guillaume's found a new favorite exercise)
2x the Grand Traverse (GF 36!, KL 25)

Brian, I think the plan for Wednesday should involve a warmup...
No climbing for me Wed, I get to see Sigur Rós!
Nevertheless, a warmup seems prudent.
