Texas, week 12, volume
Warm-up:
back squat (triples to 185#)
3x5 back squat (225)
5x5 bench press (135)
2-4-5 deadlift (315, [w,s,s])
Awesome day! For purely psychological reasons, repping 4 plates is a big benchmark for me. Reps 1-4 of each set felt great, took a breath between each rep; had to take 3-5 breaths before finishing the set though. Stay at this weight next week, but bump the volume back up to 5x5. Benching was fine, can go up 5# next week. Deadlifts felt great today, 315# is a 5RM simply cause I've never done 5 reps at that weight. Felt surprisingly easy. Deadlift strategy for the next few weeks is to only deadlift 1x5 on the volume day, with fewer than 5 warm-up reps. Should be able to go up 5-10# next week.
