Almost the last advanced class for two months...

For July and August the Friday evening classes advanced classes are opened up (and made easier) so this was one of my first and last chances for a while to be schooled by the senior students. And some of them no how to school you. First class was very basic: katate-tori shiho-nage, tenchi-nage and kokyo-nage hantai-tenkan. Advanced class was all circular behind the back techniques were the uke comes to grab your wrists (in an attempt to get them both locked behind you--hand cuff style) and you rotate them all the way past and apply various techniques. Some of these are quite challenging and they require both timing and coordination. We also practiced an ikkyu reversal--which was my first official reversal work.
