Situps went far better today, feet fully anchored and hands free a la CF situps (no abmat though). As Eric helpfully pointed out, I was likely shorting some of the tuck jumps (though they felt high at the time). Duly noted for next time - hey, when you cheat, you're only cheating yourself...

Don't worry Brian, you can always play along at home.

The burpees were surprisingly brutal mixed in here. I like the core work--definitely need more of it. And you definitely felt the situps move more into the rectus abdominis as your legs got tired. I don't quite know how Scott manages to do the situps unanchored. I really need the anchoring (and I'd like to try the CF abmat technique) but it definitely means that I normally engage a lot more quad/posterior chain in the situp.

That's the reasoning behind the abmat - isolates the rectus by maintaining the lumbar arch.

More likely hip flexors involved than posterior chain in the situps, though...
