Goin' Globo

Warm-up:
1 mile run (1.5% incline, 10:00 pace)
OHS to 95#
HPC to 135#

Crossfit WOD 080414
Hang power clean 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps
KL: 135, 135(f), 125, 125, 135(f)->125, 125, 125

Burpees and single overhead dumbbell walking lunges

HPCs felt better by the end, the difference between being able to put up 135 vs 125 was all in technique: if I really hit the second extension and hip push, it floated right up; if I missed it the bar felt like a ton of bricks.

Workout was at the Lafayettte Street Crunch with Maggie, Eric, and Jacqueline, which we explored courtesy of a few free passes. The others took a lyrical dance class which was far too coordination-demanding for me, so I scoped out the workout areas. Not an unreasonable place to implement CF-style workouts:

PROS:
- plenty of treadmills, on the same floor as free weights
- a power rack and multiple squat racks
- 24 hours and relatively uncrowded

CONS:
- no rowing machines
- no track and not a lot of free space (extended walking lunges, etc.)
- probably not friendly to Oly lifting (and dumping)
- $$$

What, you saying I'm clumsy?

I think if I had tried it, I would have not only ended up in a heap on the floor, but probably would have taken out several leotarded and legwarmered participants with me.

Eric looked right on it though, and I must admit it seemed like a good workout.
