The little climbing wall that could

Scott and I hit the Coles climbing wall for a couple of hours of bouldering. It's a fairly small wall, but it possesses varied angles, a diversity of holds, and interesting well-set routes. And there are some tricky and difficult routes. They have quickdraws up for lead practice too; I'll ask about the chance to practice outside of a class next time.

After hitting up some of the easy-to-moderate routes, we ran through the classic bouldering game "pointer" - one person climbs while the other taps the next handhold to be used. Great for endurance, body positioning, and onsight planning...

Pointer sounds really evil.

Do they actually scrub their holds at Coles?

Two bonuses: you can use chalk, and the holds are scrubbed occasionally. We actually used the scrubber brush and pole in our foray with pointer...

they're very low key there, if a hold is too slick you can pick up the brush and scrub it yourself
