A good late afternoon climbing session with Eric, Jaclyn and Kenway. Gym was crazy packed today! Everyone got to tackle some good problems, including some tough new ones set by Koots (5.9-5.11). I had a lot of trouble sequencing things today, and failed to use my feet intelligently. Jaclyn cruised a bunch of 5.7's, displaying patience and natural technique (suspiciously good ...). Yah, it felt like the full on gym climbing experience yesterday, and lines for climbs and birthday party children underfoot. Taking that lead test looking a little more attractive, no?
Nice work tackling some of the 11s though, Brian - when I do heavy lifting workouts in the days before climbing I literally climb a grade or two lower...
That lead test certainly looks doable ...
If you'd like, we can do a session of practice clipping here - all we need is a rope and a couple of quickdraws.
Practice points:
- clips with the gate facing left or right
- clipping with either hand
- (not) backclipping
- (not) z-clipping
