Warm-up:
back squats
good mornings
Burgener warm-up (45#)
deadlift (to 275#)
Crossfit WOD 021008
7x1 deadlift (295,315,325,3x335,345)
Haven't worked the posterior chain since before my little broken-ass mishap, the pulls felt awkward and weak right up to the very end. Couldn't get a good mirror sightline but definitely felt like I was lifting most of the weight with my back. Had to switch to mixed grip at 335, felt the bar slipping out of my right hand.
Lung capacity took a real hit with this chest cold, even the warm-up left me out of breath. Plan to work some aerobic capacity this week (interval runs, perhaps?).

Glad to see the back is healed after the mishap. That's wicked grip strength hold off the mixed grip till 335#, I start losing it around 250#.
I'm a wuss and avoid the hook grip cause I can't seem to get it not to hurt, but maybe I should give it a try. I probably should have switched to mixed a little earlier since I kept having visions of the bar slipping out of my paw and taking off a kneecap on the way down, but not having done it in a while I thought it might affect my pulling (which it didn't).
I was able to use the hook grip effectively once, but every other time I've tried it, it's hurt. I've tried to figure out what I did differently that one time, but I haven't had a repeat yet.
