Ouch

Warm-up:
0.25 mi run

Crossfit WOD 022408

"Eva" (aka Helen's angry stepmother)
Five rounds for time of:
800 meter run (treadmill, incline=1.5)
30 kettlebell swing (2 pood = 70.4#, subbed 55# DB)
30 pullups

BL: 4 rounds in 54:25
round 1 = 4:01/1:39/3:07
round 2 = 5:03/3:06/6:06
round 3 = 5:57/4:04/5:53
round 4 = 6:41/2:44/5:57

Lost ~1 minute each way transitioning from treadmill to pullup bar.

A new Crossfit WOD in honor of monster athlete Eva T. I saw this last night and thought it was a typo! Then I got nervous. I couldn't finish due to a time constraint, but I can honestly say I was a little relieved. The runs were painful after yesterday. Swings were OK, done in sets of 10. Lots of trouble stringing kips together today. Even at 4 rounds, it deserves the "death" label. Hope to finish it next time.

Ouch indeed, that's a punishing workout for a Sunday afternoon.

Did you see the recent pic of Eva on the CF website? Pretty damn impressive...

I feel broken.

Get some good climbs in?

Well, depends on your definition of good - definitely worked up a sweat. It was Jacqueline's first time and she did excellent, enduring her way up a slew of 7s with nary a hang.

Eric and I tried to stick to double routes per tiein, really gets a burn going.

Managed to sequence that red 11+ up front finally (the one they downgraded), weird balancy stemmy leap up top after the heel hook overhang where I previously kept peeling off. Also managed to work out a better (for me) sequence on that overhanging black 11 next to it (the one with the deadpoint moves low and heel hooks up high).

Sounds like fun. So what is the procedure for a first-time climber? Just the tie-in knot and belay commands?

They didn't even check tie-in procedures or commands, since she wasn't belaying they just gave her a harness and said go-get-em. Probably helps that we're familiar faces around there now.
