Little ditty, about Scott & Dia-ane
warmup:
1x CFWU
2x barbell complex (60,65)
deadlifts to 185
workout: WOD 070917
"Diane"
21-15-9 reps of:
225 pound Deadlift
Handstand push-ups (subbed vertical against the wall push-ups)
This was deadly. The deadlifts were heavy the first round, but felt better towards the end. It's possible I wasn't warmed up enough on them. It also helped to use the switch grip. The handstand push-ups were exceptionally brutal. I had avoided this workout in the past because I wasn't particularly good at either things. I'm very satisfied with my improvement in the deadlifts, and am happy to complete this workout. Next time will be better though!
Also, this had never been a problem before, but going to Coles around 5:30 is a really terrible idea. My God, that gym was so packed I just stood around for awhile (doing some b-complexes) before I could get a bar. And then I had to find a wall where people weren't doing stuff to put my bar next to. Ugh. It really cleared out after 6 though. Guess I'll take notes from Kenway and not go before then.

Nice job, Scottle, I was fearing this one. Were you doing HSPU away from the wall? I did them facing the wall, and it allowed me to get some lift with my toes - didn't feel as tough as it should have, so it was a definite assist.
Nah, I was making sure not to use my feet at all. Not out of any compunction to them perfectly (since I needed the wall as an assist anyway) but because I didn't have any socks and my shoes were pulling on my big toenail in such a way as to make it very painful if I tried to use them. So, strict pushups for me.
