Early bird gets the roof
G and I snuck off campus early today, getting to BKB around 5:30 and being rewarded by a blissfully (relatively) empty gym. Warmed up slowly on vertical problems in the front (V0-V3) before heading to the new roof section in the back. We worked a few problems in the V3-V5 range: a long, juggy V3 (pink/blue) that traverses the length of the roof before heading up to top out, a V4 (orange/black) that starts on the roof with a few tricky body tension moves before crossing the lip and heading up, and a tough V5 V6 (green/red) with small pinches and big throws. Guillaume was absolutely killin' it...
We moved to a little vertical section just off the roof, where there was a good clustered collection of V4s and V5s, including a few that used a left-sided arete. Moves felt allright to me, but the endurance is still slowly coming back.

You forget the cool V6 we tried (but could not do) in the roof section. Start on a big piece under the roof. Right hand to a small piece, bump to a bigger piece that you pinch. Move your left foot to the big start hold. Match hands. Move your right foot to a small piece. Move your right hand just one inch further to an undercling. Then its a big throw to a large open hand pinch type thing. At this point your body is at about an 80 degrees angle. Then its a long move to the next right hand...
Fun, but too hard for now.
My bad, thought it was a V5 - I'll change the label.
You were climbing really strong, dude...
