New Year Resolution
K and I went to TRC yesterday. It was clear we were both still recovering from our ice climbing. We climbed on lead: 5.8, 5.9, 5.10, and 5.11.
We were already pumped after the 8 (orange). The 9 (red) was extremely difficult (we both would have rated it at 10). The start involved a strange sequence with unusual hand placements and mid way through you had a relatively big throw from a mono.
The 10 (pink on white) was fun but sustained and we both needed to take at some point. The end involved a difficult pinch so I did it differently big doing a big throw for the last piece but avoiding the pinch.
The 11 was fun but difficult. Neither of us managed to finish it. The third clip is really hard to do and I though K was going to hit the deck. The 4th clip is even trickier, you need to climb a few moves past it (horizontally) before you can clip it. Definitely worth going back to.
I think it was the first time I climbed at TRC that K did not say "that's what she said" a single time... I guess he is sticking to his resolution.

Seriously, what kind of 9 involves yarding on a mono?
You could get hurt using your finger like that (that's what she said).
