From the Planet, to the Brain, to the Death Star...

It was only Brain and I yesterday. We were both slightly inebriated, but that did not stop us from having a great evening.

Started on lead with two clean climbs, a 5.9 followed by a 5.10 (blue and pink in the entrance). It was the first time either of us made that 10 clean and it felt surprisingly good. We then both gave a try to the 11 black and teal and each had to take one rest.

We followed this by 2 bouldering problems: a V2 and a V3. Both in the section where you can top out.

We came back to leading. I worked a 12 brown that was hard, required contact strength, endurance, and calm as the clips were SCARY! This route involved going from the purple planet (matched hands) to the blue brain, then the death star (match), followed by a 2 fingers pocket (clip), then a couple of move to the Navajo block (clip)... Pumpy. Dave seemed excited to see someone try it. Brain attacked the 11 brown in the entrance. I followed it with a pathetic attempt at the long 11 camo and Brain finished with an impressive send of the blue 11 (straight up where the blue camo starts).

We went back for a bit of bouldering. We tried the brown peanut problem which we couldn't send. We finished with a blue V3.

Haha, that image is perfect. Can't wait to see you finish the 12. All the highstepping is just nuts.

Sequence of climbs was very good tonight. In the end, finger strength failed me before pumping out.

I was google-searching 'humping an egg', but didn't find anything appropriate. Perhaps I should turn SafeSearch off?

Not a good idea (I just did it).

Good sequence indeed.

I can't imagine finishing it... but there's always hope.

Nice job, gentlemen.

Which wall is the brown 12 on? Is it mostly vertical, technical stuff? Sounds scary to me...

Right beside the red 12. Scary indeed.

Bring it on!

Ah, we will have to ask them to play some Paula Abdul to reproduce Guillaume's terror ...

Nooooooooooo, not Paula again!

I am still impressed by the speed at which Brain could recognize Whitney Houston.

Yeah, well you climbed to Whitney, but I got Salt 'n Peppas' Push it. Sounds good in theory, but sucks in practice.
