PMenu WOD, Day 4, Week 1, Strength 2

Warm-up:
back squat (alternating low- & high-bar; to triples at 225#)
good mornings

Performance Menu WOD 101708
snatch balance (to a heavy single; 110,2x115,4x120 [fx2])
5x2 tall snatch (55,60,65,2x70)

5-5-3-2-2 deadlift (135,225,2x315)
3x max chinups (12,10,6)

Found the assistance lifts very good for technique today. Had a lot of trouble at the heaviest snatch balance; it was really difficult to avoid unlocking the hips and popping the bar up off the shoulders (as opposed to just diving under the bar). Tall snatches felt good, I finally got the scarecrow arm position preceding the turnover. Bar stayed a lot closer to the body, and hopefully it'll transfer to the full lift. Took it easy with the deadlifts, nursing a back strain.

Well, at least you strained your back doing something useful (I guess moving rocks is useful). Either way, age gets everyone in the end ...
