2-2-1 deadlift (315,335,355)
Foam rolling and pushups to finish.
I rarely get interrupted at the gym. I think it's a combination of the headphones and the fact that I stare at the ground between sets. But today some heel came over to tell me that I was squatting incorrectly. He actually said something to me while I was doing the last rep of a set. I racked the weight and was like, 'Is someone actually trying to talk to me right now?', and turned around. 'Your back is too horizontal' repeats the guy who is curling in the other squat rack. I pulled the headphones out and was like, 'What?', to which he replies 'You back is too horizontal'. If I weren't an asshole, I would be like, 'Let me tell you about the low-bar back squat', but I just put my headphones back in and sat down to stare at the ground. Thankfully this guy left soonafter, and Clarence showed up to box-squat with bands and do some crazy heavy concentric good-mornings.
OK, enough ranting. I threw a few deadlifts in cause Rippetoe had mentioned warming up to heavy deadlifts by cleaning. Thought I'd see how it felt. It sucked, partly because I was tired, but mostly cause I use a different start position for my cleans (à la Burgener/Everitt). It would probably be awesome if your clean start position was exactly the same as your deadlift start position as Rip advocates. Oh well.

Seriously - who gives unsolicited advice to a guy with four plates on his back?!? I wonder if you could keep the bar in place while giving the finger? I bet you could. Nice work on those lifts, especially the PR!
Brilliant Byers, I figured out giving the finger with a Rippetoe-approved grip today. Can't wait to try it out!
