Texas, week 1, intensity
Warm-up:
back squat to 185#
3x1 back squat (205,225,235)
3x1 shoulder press (95,105,110f)
2x5 L-pullups
100 days of burpees 4
First intensity day in this new cycle of Texas method. Weaker than the recent past for sure, but about where I thought I'd be. Shoulders are weak, particularly a tweaky left rotator cuff. Squat numbers were relatively high given my time off, likely partially due to a switch to the low-bar squat.
Still fiddling with the position, doesn't quite feel low enough but any lower feels awkward. I can definitely feel the different mechanics vs. the high-bar squat, in particular the less vertical back angle and the posterior chain involvement.
