5.11ish

Late night leading jaunt with Guillaume at the gym (the not teaching thing is freeing the Professor up for more noble pursuits, apparently). We hit up three separate 11s this time, starting with the two-roof orange on which Meghan schooled us last time. I still couldn't pull through the right leg heel hook at the first roof, but G muscled his way up that and the subsequent tricky clips around the arete and over the second roof - taking some nice air along the way!

We moved on to a more technical vertical face (red), which at least I could get on - I think it was less psychologically demanding for both of us, though still desperate at the end.

The final route of the night is a great line (green/red) up the overhanging arch, across the roof at the apex, and then through the roof on the other side. We both muscled our way under the roof - big reachy moves, but positive holds - only to have Meghan school us again. No egos here, but I don't feel like a 5.11 climber yet.

Anyone wanna climb on Wed?

The 11 image is killing me... I was telling Alistair and a student that yesterday I was sucking, but at least I was sucking on hard stuff... Of course they thought that was hilarious; it took me a few seconds to realize what I had just said.

Please ... keep the pillow-talk off of the blog, eh?

Um, for the record, I was nowhere near when Guillaume was, you know, doing the hard stuff...
