Swimming with the fishes
I decided that I needed some exercise to make up for a week of conferencing (too much eating and drinking). I did do a bit of volley ball on a couple of days and a fast walk up about 800ft on a mountain trail, but I wanted something a bit more vigorous. As I've been visiting my friends who live in North Adams, MA since the conference I haven't had many good opportunities however. Today we found one. There's a lovely pond just up the street and we went for a nice long swim, including two ~100m sprints where I really pushed and got my heart rate up nicely. Swimming really does manage to work most of the body. I really notice how your core is involved. And I ran into someone who I used to practice Aikido with in Amherst, MA which is over an hour away. Very random, but apparently my old dojo is doing alright.
