Sore fingers
Kenway and I got up bright and early to make it to TRC when the doors opened. The gym was completely empty, and the kids were rockin some nostalgic 90s tunes (Metallica, Pearl Jam, etc.). We warmed up on a wandering 10 (yellow) and went for some leading. I finally moved to 10s so I could start climbing the overhung stuff; started on a yellow route with (for me) a tricky start, and got to the first clip on the roof before burning out. Kenway cruised it, pulling some kind of crazy knee-hook to get out from under the roof. We moved to the black (10) that Guillaume kept trying to get me to try last time. I made it (in bolt-to-bolt fashion) to just before the chains on the roof and had to quit due to fatigue. Kenway made it look easy (hey, how did I end up going first!). I finished leading on my favorite 9+ (had to rest at the last clip, better than before), while Kenway worked a tricky yellow (12). We moved on to some top-roping, working on the brown (11+) and black (10+) routes set by B. The holds on both these routes are tiny, and the tendons gonna pay for our attempts. Neither of us made it very far up the 11+, but managed the 10+ (although it didn't really feel any easier than the last time I did it!). Finished by grovelling up the grey/pink camo (10+) route (very fun, but gets gruesome in the dihedral).

Wow, guys, what a session, I wish I was there! Way to go leading that black 10 Brain. Hope to climb with you guys this week.
We missed you G, but Brian is making it sound easier than it was, at least for me. Worked those leads with a few well-timed hangs, and could not for the life of me get past those crimpy moves on the TR 11. Excellent work, Brian, on attacking the stiffer leads...
Crazy footwork in that video, no? French elan...
The footwork is insane, although he overdoes it a little bit for my taste.
BTW if any of you guys com to the gym to climbing wearing nothing but a yellow Speedo, I'll pay for your entry :-)
And with all due respect to Janis, it makes for terrible music in a climbing vid... although it still is better than some of the music at the gym!
