Raphael says "Get a Grip!"

CFWU x3

workout:
crossfit WOD 080702

Five rounds for time of:
135 pound Deadlift, 15 reps
135 pound Hang power clean, 12 reps
135 pound Front Squat, 9 reps
135 pound Push Jerk, 6 reps

(KL + SS subbed 95# for all lifts)

KL 20:41 (2:35, 4:09, 4:32, 4:35, 4:48)
SS 20:54 (4 rounds)

Man, this workout was intense, a real grip-buster. I give it an 'A' for sure. It's quick and freaking hard. I wasn't able to complete it because I started exacerbating a muscle strain in my left medial trap (I think it's my trap anyway), the same one that used to get messed up during deadlifts. It hasn't happened in awhile, but the HPC's really got it going in the third round. I'd love to try this workout again sometime.

I'm still feeling the effects of this one, as you get tired any drop in form or efficiency really punishes you.

I thought Scott was being unnecessarily cautious when he wanted to scale to 115#, but when we put some weight on the bar it was me who dropped it to 95# (good move in the end). Ugh.

Pushed through the first round unbroken, but broke up the HPCs and all the transitions after that: 14DL, 1DL-6HPC, 5HPC, 1HPC-9FS, 6PJ. All breaks with weight on the floor. Mostly just muscle fatigue, and a lot of that in the grip. A lot of the HPCs were really muscle cleans in the end, and the PJs always felt shaky.

95# never felt so damn heavy.
