Jo Kata
Today was a good pair of basics classes. We did Kata Tori (shoulder grab) techniques: Ikkyo, Kokyo Naga, Shiho Nage, Sankyo. Nice to feel like most of them were polished. Second class was the basic Jo aikido paired kata (a waza, or timing exercise) which is comprised of strike-counter-strike elements. Being far weaker on my Jo it was good to work on the basics. Good work, but I was thinking about the 5.11 in the corner in the break...
