Some experimentation

Tabata push-ups (6 rounds)
19, 16, 12, 11, 9, 6

Starting a weekly Tabata session to see what improvements are possible, inspired by this discussion over on the crossfit boards. Using 6 instead of 8 rounds based on the idea that work output drops precipitously over the last two rounds; the original Japanese experiment used 7 or 8 rounds. Sessions will be done at an all-out rather than measured pace.

May add squats and/or situps into the mix (I'll leave the pull-up strength to climbing, hopefully).

Hi, just come across your blog, and am leaping in with a comment before reading other entries, just because i have used Tabata with athletes I coach, and ALWAYS start at 6 efforts, then see if moving up to 7 or 8 is going to help them or wreck them.

Thanks for the input!

We usually do 8 rounds with Tabata intervals, but I'm starting an experiment with weekly Tabatas to see if I can document training effects for myself. It's based on an excellent forum thread over on the Crossfit boards (linked in the post).
