Lunges for Lunatics
WOD 070828
For time:
400 meter Walking lunge
Also, count the steps.
SS: 16:19, 369 steps
KL: 14:17, 354 steps
ED: 20:27, 347 steps
cooldown: some handstand pushup work. Eric was able to barely lean against the wall, Kenway and I not so much. More work required.
This one burned in the legs for sure. Be feeling it tomorrow. Not much else to say.

Started out Scott-style - fly and die, and suffered for it later. Did the last 250 m in 5 step sequences.
I think it's very telling that afterwards I am walking much gimpier than Mr Knee Reconstruction (kudos to his first WOD back, by the way).
We started staggered to keep to a single lane of the track, it was hilarious because it felt like a slow-motion race - every 100 feet someone would gain or lose a couple feet, but it would take a minutes.
That must have looked hilarious. Hat tip to CrossfitNYC for pointing out The Ministry of Silly Walks.
Scott, I thought for sure you were going to finish this in like 250 steps!
I had the oddest muscle failure doing this one. I clearly worked my good leg hard yesterday as I had it give out early on. I had to stop an masage it regularly towards the end. Funny enough, I started adding more lunges with my 'bad' leg as they were easier and the muscle hadn't given out!
All in all, I'd do it again on a nice day.
And the handstand pushups felt good afterwards...
You know, so did I. I think I must have miscounted somewhere, like "71..72..80.." or something like that.
My legs are on fire today.
The posts on the message board were especially funny today. Some gems:
"Waited until it was dark and dressed in black...still my wife begged me to do it indoors... Well, did it outdoors anyway"
"I was able to get up to my 3rd floor office, but how am I to get down?"
"8:20 as rx'd in back yard grass
bit by wasp on step 280"
"Dear Lord, sweet baby Jesus... 8lb 6oz baby infant Jesus... HELP ME!"
