I'll have some of the same please
"Tabata something else"
BL: 307
pull-ups: 4, 4, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 = 16 [from a 0.5" doorframe]
push-ups: 25, 15, 11, 9, 7, 7, 6, 6 = 86
sit-ups: 12, 10, 15, 9, 8, 7, 7, 7 = 75
squats: 20, 19, 17, 15, 16, 14, 14, 15 = 130
Couldn't resist after seeing you guys go after this one. No pullup bar at home, so I tried the doorframe pullups. Took me awhile to be able to type again. Heart rate after last interval was ~180bpm (tough to get a good read cause I was breathing so hard). I got an extra rest interval between the pushups and situps cause I had to move to another room. Gonna go puke now.
And cause I was jealous of Kenway's rings, I got one of these (for the record, I don't buy any of the hype, I just think they're fun):

Awesome! Tabata door frame pull-ups, that is certifiable, Brian. Bet Buster must have been going craaazy...
The kettlebell looks sweet (never seen one look so shiny), but I don't want to even imagine the shipping cost. We should bring all our equipment together for a chipper workout one of these days - Scott can bring the truck tire, Eric maybe the sled.
Well done! I just got home so you must have done that really quick after we posted. I guess it only takes 16 minutes though. Nice job on the Tabata doorframe pullups... what the hell were you thinking?
And the kettlebell looks totally sweet. So, Kenway and I were thinking of doing a crossfit total on Monday, and then following the actual crossfit WODs for awhile just to see how it goes. You interested?
Buster was killing me during the situps, kept licking the sweat off of my arms!
The KB I got isn't shiny, and I picked it up in the city (midtown). Got the last one (30#, I think they technically consider this a "ladies" KB). Was hoping for heavier, but after lugging it home, I think it's a good start.
A chipper sounds awesome; East river park would be perfect, something Helen-esque?
since we actually did the WOD today, I think everyone should post on crossfit. I'm on there as ScottNY.
Yeah Scott, who would have thought 16 minutes could be so bad. Stomach is still flopping, staying near the bathroom.
CFT next week sounds good.
That conjures up so many hilarious images of you and Buster. Helen sounds good to me, but we'd have to find some pull-ups bars. Brunpee is always nice though...
Ah, the beauty of the chipper/hopper: nobody knows the workout except lady luck (or deterministic dude, if you want to be a materialist about it). We can decide the exercises and random draw the reps - workout would be one time through, like the Filthy Fifty.
Scott, in case you haven't seen, WOD tomorrow is 5x5 shoulder press...
Hey, that's pretty similar to what I'd been doing. Oh well, too bad Eric isn't here.
tabata door frame pullups is officially crazy! I'm going to have to try that here on vacation now...
you should do the shoulder press without me--I'll try to find something heavy to lift over my head. I'm going to try to do yoga on sunday as a warm up for taking you guys sometime this week. can we manage two combined workouts in one week?
If the yoga is in the evening (after 6:30?), I could probably do 2 in a week.
Yoga sounds fun, though I'd be happy just trying to lift my arm above shoulder height tomorrow...
cool. that'll be a fun week.
And kettlebells are so much handier for clocking an intruder upside the head...
