Active rest

Warm-up:
heavy weapons
sword targeting chain

1=30 one-armed KB swings (30# KB, as a breathing ladder)

I swapped arms as needed, and this took exactly 30 minutes (465 swings, 1 swing every 3.87 seconds). Never hit panic breathing, although I was careful to take controlled breaths between sets. Probably need a heavier weight for this movement.

One problem with having equipment at home is the constant temptation to use it. Messed around with windmills, cleans and presses with the kettlebell. Lots of fun.

did you get the sword targeting chain idea off the Physical Strategies blog? I looked at that, it seemed pretty cool. Also, when you clean a KB, are you using both arms? And wouldn't it smack you in the chest?

When I had lived downtown, those were the guys I trained longsword and knife with. They're awesome, and I try to practice when I can.

Clean is done with one arm (or one KB in each arm). There is a bit of technique to minimize impact (which is on your bicep/shoulder), but no doubt about it, it'll smack you every now and then.
