DE Upper
Warmup:
2x barbell complex @ 50#
Workout:
7x3 push jerk
SS 105, 110, 115, 125, 130 (failed), 2x115
KL 105, 115, 125, 4x135
Tough workout the day after interval rows. Tried to keep the lift explosive by focusing on the dip and drive. When it felt good the bar seemed to just float up there, with little effort in the pressing. We didn't have a clue as to what would be a good DE kind of weight: heavy enough to be an exertion but light enough to stay explosive. I think 135# is as heavy as I could go and stay dynamic.
When we got to Coles to work out, there were two NYFD EMT's working on a kid on the decline bench. The worst part is the whole time they worked on him, he was in the same position as he was when working out, and his face kept getting redder and redder. Couldn't really see what was wrong initially, but in the end they braced his arm; didn't see a collar or spineboard. Everybody kept on working out around him though...

Christ, what a weird scene to see in the gym. I wonder if he dropped a plate on his collarbone or something. Freaky.
Yeah I don't know. I basically followed the EMTs in and he was just chillin on the bench. His good arm was tucked under his neck so I was concerned he had done some damage there, but I guess that was just the most comfortable place to put it.
Use a spotter!
Better yet, Don't bench!
