Kenway, Brian and I all headed to TRC last night for a bit of leading. We did a 9 (purple), one 10, and two 11s (green and purple). All climbs were fun and involved complicated sequences, even the 9.
We all did the 9 onsight but then couldn't do any other one clean. The 10 could probably be lead clean by all of us with a few attempts, but the 11s feel out of reach right now. The green 11 was lots of fun. Brian figured out a completely different way to do it than Kenway and I had, and I think his way is the right way. He also found a great way to clip under the roof, involving a highstep and clipping across your body. The next move is a difficult pinch to be transformed into a gaston followed by a big throw to the left... not easy. The last 11 was all slopers and open hands. Kenway, who went the furthest on it, reached the roof but couldn't pass it.
Whew, that was work! Definitely still sore from the ice this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe climbing's getting pretty stiff there - wonder if it's a conscious response to BKB? I admit that I like the tough climbs, it's good for the body if not for the ego.
Enjoyed the climbing, pretty thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteNice fall by Guillaume as well!
