Back to Coles

K and I were at Coles tonight. We first did a pink (about V1), followed by an orange (about V2), both of which we downclimbed. Whites (V3-V4) gave a us a serious hard time.

We worked 3 of them (blue on white, orange on white, and solid white), each for a long time, and I could only finish the third one (albeit with the ugliest sequence). The second one was not as hard as scary, and I had to back down.

To finish the evening we worked a red (V4-V5, green on red). We couldn't finish it but got close, 2 (scary) moves short of the end.

We definitely have to go back more often, especially now that there are new holds.

  1. Warmed up with 3x10 steep wall lockoffs and a little easy vertical treadwall.

Those problems were quite stiff, actually, and Guillaume was climbing much better than me. A lot of the difficulties were big moves on small crimps and really crappy slopers.

  2. Yeah, but the new holds are greasy and chalky, same as the old holds. Contact strength...
