I can see your Lady Gaga

After spending more than a fair number of paychecks on aggressively downturned shoes, lightweight harnesses, skinny dyneema slings and the like, I don't know why I sometimes end up climbing in restrictive, tight, totally-not-suited-for climbing jeans. I especially don't know why all three of us (G, Brian, and I) ended up doing so at TRC last night. Ms. Pssst claims it confers some kinda coolness, but I think it just turns me from the uncool kid to the uncool kid who can't highstep. B and his Oly-lifting quads split his jeans almost immediately, providing an entertaining game of "did I see what I thought I saw?"

Guessed we climbed a little too: 45 minutes of limit bouldering, followed by a couple of tough leads. Lots of good problems up for the coming bouldering league, we worked some tough moves on problems in the V4-V5 range, felt hard for the grade. Pssst was styling, though, and G made good progress on a crimpy, swinging, overhanging problem in the back corner. We finished with some leads on a 10 (blue) and an 11 (purple) out front. Devious moves on the purple, with a scary 4th clip going over a small roof, which G clipped at his limit (reach AND endurance). The 10 is great fun climbing down low (finger stacks, mono pockets, monkey jumps - nice lead, B!), with an endurance crux as you turn the roof and head for the anchors.

Need to climb more.

rofl, what a title.

My climbing was really not great, I thought Brian climbed the best of us three.

Agreed, he was really climbing solidly. Of course, Meg sets a pretty high bar.

Good boulder problems, fer sure. I like the harder routes as well.

I thought it was funny how easy it was for Kenway to get you to climb the purple Guillaume.

Man that climb was miserable, but at least less pathetic than the next one I tried...

Anything that starts with the words, "Aw cmon, man up..." usually works.

You really do have a talent for posting Kenway.

Sometimes the post just writes itself, this particular evening being a perfect example.
